Uranus the Son of Gaia.

Uranus is also know as Ouranos, and was the embodiment of the sky, and known as the God of the Sky. He was the first son of Gaia (Mother Earth) and later became her husband. Together they had the Titans: six sons Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus and Cronus; and six daughters Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe and Tethys. There were also other offspring of the union: including the Cyclopes, Hecatonchires, and Erinyes (who were the spirits of punishments and vengeance.


The English composer Gustav Holst composed a suite called "The Nine Planets." This is the 6th part of the suite titled, "Uranus, the Magician."
